Cookie Policy

How Hills & Associates uses cookies, and why we do not need a cookie consent banner.

Last updated: 11 October 2026

This policy explains how Hills & Associates UK uses cookies and similar technologies on www.hillsassociates.uk. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to gather information about how a site is used. Some similar technologies, such as local storage, work in a comparable way.

2. Our approach

We keep our use of cookies to an absolute minimum. This website:

  • does not use advertising or marketing cookies;
  • does not use analytics or tracking cookies;
  • does not track you across other websites; and
  • uses only the small number of strictly necessary cookies required to keep the site and its contact form secure and working.

Because we do not use any non-essential cookies, UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, or PECR) does not require us to ask for your consent, and you will not see a cookie consent banner on our site. We have published this policy for transparency.

3. Cookies we use

The following strictly necessary cookies may be set when you use our website. Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement because they are essential for a service you have requested, such as security or a working contact form.

CookieSet byPurposeDuration
__cf_bm Cloudflare Bot management. Distinguishes human visitors from automated traffic to protect the site from abuse and attacks. 30 minutes
cf_clearance Cloudflare Stores the result of a security challenge, so that you are not repeatedly asked to verify that you are human. Up to 1 year
i18n_redirected Our contact form service (form.hillsassociates.cloud) Remembers the language in which to display the contact form. 1 year

The Cloudflare security cookies are only set where a security check is triggered; they are not set on every visit.

4. Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit our site and which pages are viewed. This service is designed to be privacy-first: it does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device, and does not track you across websites or build a profile of you. Because no information is stored on or read from your device, it does not require consent under PECR.

5. Third-party services

Our contact form is served from form.hillsassociates.cloud, a service operated by us on our own infrastructure. When you load a page containing the form, your browser connects to that address, and the cookie listed above may be set. We do not embed third-party advertising, social media or tracking widgets on this website.

6. Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. The help function in your browser will explain how to do this. Please note that if you block all cookies, some parts of the website, such as the contact form, may not work correctly. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will not affect your ability to read our website content.

For more information about cookies, and how to manage them, you may find the guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office useful at ico.org.uk.

7. Changes to this policy

If we introduce any non-essential cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting them. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised.

8. Contact us

If you have any questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at [email protected] or +44 20 3807 8443.
